About Us
Company Rietze Automodelle
Our aim is, and we follow this consequently, to create car models in best quality and exact in scale.
In the course of the time it has proofed, that our way is the right one and the success was visible.
Numerous awards from the specialist publications and appreciation and respect from the collectors confirms this. The company became independent regarding finances. commerce and organization. An own tool shop, for the moulds, a pad print department, an assembly line as well as a department for graphic arts with own reproduction studio was established.
"We now could do everything ourselves, independent and fast in our production, faster than our competitors".
After the re-unification of the two German parts, we were one of the very first who invested in the "New German territories" and created modern jobs. Already in 1990 our production facility in Zwickau was opened
and we started with 15 employees in the tool shop, injection mould and assembly.
One who knows the founder of the company Mr. Lothar Rietze, also know, that this engagement was not just for financial benefits but for the solidarity with the old homeland.
With this new build company the capacity could be increased and we achieved our aim, to be faster and be more flexible in fulfilling our customers needs.
The team in our parent company in Nuremberg was growing based on request. As a result it was necessary to grow and the new facility in Altdorf near Nuremberg was opened in 1996 with much room for expansion. |

The first step in 1983
Our first model we started with was a Mitsubishi L 300 which we made in tree variations. It was not our aim
just to produce models, we were looking explicitly for niche products already at that early time.
Therefore we created in our "smithy" HO-models of Japanese car manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki, Honda and Mazda. This was a market segment which was left to us and turned to be a reliable business. Japanese cars were not only appreciated in original but also loved as models from the many collectors and the builder of model train layouts.
1990 we started the segment of coaches with the first model, a Neoplan City-Liner. This was another niche which we filled up with our models. Today we are world wide the leading manufacturer of coaches and buses
in scale 1:87. |
